The
Toy Farmer Museum was built in 1916 along Highway 13 in LaMoure, ND.
It was moved to its present location east of LaMoure in 1946. The
barn was transformed into a museum in 1999 to house the collection
of Claire and Cathy Schiebe, founders of the Toy Farmer publication.
The museum’s display cases feature the National Farm Toy Show tractors,
the Toy Truck’N Construction Show trucks and construction toys, custom
and scratch built farm toys and Lowell Davis’ sculptured barns and
farming figurines. The gift shop features collectible farm toys, tractor
videos, toy collecting books and the American Country Barns by Lowell
Davis.
The museum is open year around from 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday
and noon to 5 pm. on Saturday and Sunday. Weekday hours are extended
to 6 pm May 1 through to September 30. The museum is closed New Years
Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
No admission is charged.
